Tiptoe if you must but take a step

Tiptoe if you must but take a step

‘Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tiptoe if you must, but take a step.’
– Naeem Callaway

I love this quote! I love it because it hits home.

The thing with the first steps towards our goals is… they’re not easy.

Why?

Because fear takes over:
– Fear of failure
– Fear of judgement
– Fear of rejection

You name it.

Every time I see this quote, it gets me thinking about some of the first steps I’ve taken in my life (despite feeling ALL ABOVE) that I’m so grateful to myself for:

• A step to apply for a job that was so out of my comfort zone back then
• A step to move abroad and start from scratch
• A step to go to the coaching school
• A step to start my own business
• A step to stop seeking other people’s approval (how liberating!)

Those steps, together with all challenges on the way shaped who I am today.

They impacted so much the life I have now.

Cause…

Who knows?

Maybe it wouldn’t have been so obvious to me what I want to do in life, if not this job that I once applied for.

Maybe I would have never had the courage to coach in English if not the fact that I moved abroad.

Maybe I wouldn’t have embarked on my entrepreneurial journey if I didn’t stop seeking constant validation from others.

You see, the first step is the hardest one, it scares the hell out of us…

But, at the same time, it’s so crucial! It’s liberating.

It sets us free. From our own limitations!

And what if you fail?

I know… a question we all ask ourselves.

If you fail…
… you learn, you get stronger and you make the next step.

So…

Don’t wait until the situation is perfect, as it may NEVER be!

Don’t wait until everybody agrees with your idea, as they may never do…

Don’t wait until your skills are perfect, as we learn much more by doing rather than by waiting.

The life you want can only become a reality…
When you have the courage to make things happen.

If we don’t take the first step, we simply stand still.

The best time to start is NOW!

Tiptoe if you must, but take a step….
